The Fiermonte Museum is located at Vico dei Rayno 4, near La Fiermontina Luxury Home and La Fiermontina Palazzo Bozzi Corso in the historic centre of Lecce, a splendid Apulian city known as The Lady of Baroque.
’To discover it at its best, we recommend a walk starting at Piazza S. Oronzo Where you can admire the town’s Roman Amphitheatre, as well as the column of S. Oronzo From 1660 and the Sedile from 1592. After enjoying a coffee accompanied by pasticciotto', you can set off to discover Lecce Many Baroque treasures, including honey-coloured palaces and richly decorated churches that tell the story of the town.
Following this, you can head towards the imposing Charles V Castle or continue into the city centre, gazing upwards to catch a glimpse of the stunning architecture: from the Basilica of Santa Croce to the imposing Palazzodei Celestini, which dates back to the mid-16th century. The scenic Church of San Matteoin Viade Perroni, the Church of Santa Chiara and the splendid Santa Irene can also be seen, as well as theChurch of the Rosario with its sumptuous façade, decorated with bold pinnacles and flowering bushes.
The centrepiece of this journey is Piazza Duomo, known as the 'living room' of Lecce. This scenic space is overlooked by the Cathedral, a late 17th-century seminary building which now houses the Diocesan Museum. There is also the Baroque-style bell tower, which offers a view over the roofs of the city out towards the sea.
